Serve the City!
Here at Emmaus Church, one of our great passions is to share the glorious good news of the Gospel with our community. We believe Jesus has shown us his grace in order that we might with others, living as His ambassadors among our neighbors.
One of the ways we actively do this is through Serve the City, an ongoing ministry where we seek to build relationships and share the truth of Jesus to our neighbors immediately around the church.
This semester, we have three events planned to engage with our neighbors on Sept 7, Oct 5, and Nov 2. Click here to sign up to serve!
As a church, we also partner with several gospel-centered organizations in Gwinnett and Hall counties in an effort to reach people with the good news about Jesus. We currently partner with StreetWise, the SaltLight Center, Backpack Love, and Beautiful Feet. These are wonderful organizations that God is using to reach people for the gospel and we are excited to partner with them.
Much of our local mission work is done through our Missional Community Groups. We call them “Missional” Community Groups because we want them to work together as a group to live missionally in the neighborhoods God has them. Currently, we have groups scattered throughout Gwinnett, Hall, and Forsyth counties. Our prayer is that God will bring His gospel to the people in these neighborhoods and use these MC groups to meet the needs in those particular areas.
A large part of our relationship with the local ministry StreetWise includes participating in something called the Share Project at Emmaus. At these Share Projects we throw a block party for the neighborhoods surrounding our church. We have fun activities for locally underprivileged families, provide them with lunch, worship together, share a gospel presentation, and then send them home with a month’s worth of groceries.
